How Psychedelics Could Help You See Moroccan Handmade Furniture Differently?

Ever wondered how Moroccan handmade furniture might feel if you saw it on a deeper level? I didn't—until this night. it changed everything.
💡Important Note:
This post reflects my personal experience with psychedelics and their impact on my perception of Moroccan handmade furniture. It is not intended to encourage recreational drug use.
Rather, the insights shared here point to the potential for psychedelics to facilitate deeper spiritual and meditative exploration when used responsibly and with intention. If you choose to explore this path, approach it with care, focusing on personal growth, healing and expanded consciousness - not merely altered states.
In the heart of Marrakech, where the scent of spices blends with the hum of the medina, something unexpected happened to me.
It was 2023 when I met Jennifer—an American traveler with a deep love for spiritual healing, meditation, and magic mushrooms. We met by chance, as many good stories begin. She spoke with so much passion and clarity about psychedelics, and how they’ve helped people reconnect with themselves, their emotions, and the world around them.
Jennifer had a dream: to build a healing center in Oregon, inspired by Moroccan design. And she wanted our family business to help furnish the space with handmade pieces from here—coffee tables, mirrors, carved panels...
I was curious. I’ve always been. I studied organic chemistry back in the day. I dropped out of a master's program in China during the pandemic, but the love for science never left me. So when Jennifer explained the spiritual and therapeutic effects of mushrooms, I listened. And something inside me opened up.
A few days later, we met again—this time at a calm riad tucked away in Marrakech. She brought the mushrooms. I brought tea. Moroccan incense floated through the air, and some soft ambient music played in the background. It felt right. No pressure. Just curiosity.
About an hour and a half after taking them, something began to shift.
The world didn’t just look different—it felt different.
The colors around me deepened. The light seemed warmer. Sounds had texture. And most surprisingly, the furniture in that riad—things I’ve seen all my life—suddenly glowed with new meaning.
The hand-painted ceilings didn’t feel static anymore—they danced.
The carved wooden coffee table seemed to breathe.
The nightstands, with their imperfect symmetry and faded paint, felt alive. Not just as objects, but as keepers of human energy. As if I could feel the artisan’s hands in every curve.
Jennifer and I sat on the floor, laughing, touching the table like it was telling us stories. And maybe it was.
That night changed something in me. I no longer see Moroccan handmade furniture as just "furniture." I see it as living art.
As energy captured in form.
Every chisel mark, every brushstroke, every imperfection—it all matters. Because it’s made by humans. It carries intention. And it gives back.

Later that night, we spoke about the universe, the gods, the spirit, and the absurdity of it all. But what stuck with me most wasn’t a cosmic truth. It was this simple realization:
When you slow down and truly feel your space, your furniture becomes more than decor—it becomes a part of your healing.
And maybe that’s what Jennifer saw all along.
In my next post, I’ll be sharing ways you can create your own calming meditation space using handmade Moroccan furniture—without psychedelics. Just presence. And good energy.
Thank you for being here and reading this. If you’ve ever felt like your space needs more soul, maybe what you’re missing isn’t just a new table. Maybe it’s a table made with real hands.
With peace,
Hassan
